My work at the Noble County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has given me opportunity to keep learning, something I not only think is important for all of us, but when it comes to technology and marketing, something I crave and enjoy!
Catchy Creations LLC is in no way affiliated with the EDC, but let's face it. The skills I have honed as an employee of other entity's is what enables me to offer my services now as a freelancer! With the blessing of my boss, I am sharing a couple of relevant experiences that may help you in your work.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, the EDC was faced with a few realities - small businesses were going to take a big hit - and some companies may close. To help address the first concern we launched a new brand and platform called SHOPNoble. Primarily a website-driven initiative, SHOPNoble provides a digital directory to enable more people to find local businesses and services and choose to engage with them to support the local economy.
To support workers and local employers who are hiring, we launched Work Noble, a site that provides a unique portal to jobs in Noble County that pay $15 or more per hour. Ironically, at the same time a couple of local industrial companies were facing closures, other local employers were looking to fill over 400 job openings that pay a livable wage.
I share the results of these development efforts, carried out under my role as Marketing Director at the EDC, simply to exhibit that it is entirely possible to take an idea from concept to reality in a very short time. From design to launch, these two websites were up and running within a matter of a few days - at a cost far less than you might imagine. As a freelancer, my fees to launch Work Noble would have fallen into the $750-$1,000 range, while the more sophisticated SHOPNoble site (which uses a great deal of "dynamic content") would likely have fallen in a range of $1,000 to $1,500 range. (Estimates do not include web hosting services or domain registration costs, which are also highly competitive and affordable.)
So if you have an idea, let's talk!
