I love referrals - and really appreciate the opportunities that come my way thanks to satisfied clients! This is how the new website for Tri Lakes Property Owners Association (POA) came to be in June 2026.

The leadership of the association reached out and we met to talk about their vision and the opportunities that would come with launching a new website. We met at a local coffee shop - followed by brewery - and I shared my recommendation that the new site be developed and hosted with Wix.com. There is no "old site" to note, but there are plenty of other, similar associations from whom we drew some inspiration. We also narrowed down the organization's needs to include:

  • A blog; the board needs a way to share announcements and developments that affect their membership and community.

  • A contact form to foster Q&A with stakeholders.

  • Resources - both for stewardship of the natural environment and for those who live and care for properties there.

  • Membership options - to make it easier for people who reside in the subject area to join or renew their support for the association's mission.

Once we determined these main areas of interest, we fleshed out a plan for simple navigation and layout. The result is a clean, functional design that places the organization's mission front and center.

Developing content is an ongoing effort for this new venture. At the time of live launch, I worked with board officers to fill in some blanks, find images, and even used AI to create a few images to get their points across. As the organization moves forward, they can make many updates "in-house", including creating and maintaining a library of resource documents using Wix's Content Management System (CMS).

Still ahead, Tri Lakes POA will add Wix Payments to their portfolio. This means members will have the opportunity to join or renew, and process their payments, online. Funds will automatically be transferred to the organization's bank account and authorized users will have a dashboard to manage contacts and purchase details.

Because the organization only recently became a 501c3 nonprofit, and bank details are in transition, this enhancement will be executed later in 2026.

At launch, a membership form was linked to the Join Now button. Soon, the button will be linked to an electronic order form so members can submit payments online.

I had a great time putting this new website together using Wix Studio editor, the most advanced available on the Wix platform. I love the flexibility this editor provides to customize every aspect of the site and tools to ensure every page works as desired on any size of device. Coincidentally, just a few weeks after this site went live, I received another request from another local lake association looking to build a new website. More to come soon on that project!
